AstheTMRpinissharedwithanI/Opin,toensurethatthepinisconfiguredtooperateasapulse widthcapturepin,twothingshavetobeimplemented.ThefirstistoensurethattheOperatingMode SelectbitsintheTimerControlRegisterplacetheTimer/EventCounterinthepulsewidthcapture mode,thesecondistoensurethattheportcontrolregisterconfigurethepinasaninput. Pulse Width Capture Mode Timing Chart (T0EG=0) Prescaler BitsT0PSC2~T0PSC0oftheTMR0Cregistercanbeusedtodefineadivisionratiofortheinternal clocksourceoftheTimer/EventCounterenablinglongertimeoutperiodstobeset. PFD Function TheProgrammableFrequencyDividerprovidesameansofproducingavariablefrequencyoutput suitableforapplication,suchassomeinterfacesrequiringaprecisefrequencygenerator. TheTimer/EventCounteroverflowsignalistheclocksourceforthePFDfunction,whichis controlledbyPFDCbitinCTRL0.ForthisdevicetheclocksourcecancomefromTimer/Event Counter0.Theoutputfrequencyiscontrolledbyloadingtherequiredvaluesintothetimerprescaler andtimerregisterstogivetherequireddivisionratio.Thecounterwillbegintocount-upfrom thispreloadregistervalueuntilfull,atwhichpointanoverflowsignalisgenerated,causingboth thePFDoutputstochangestate.Thenthecounterwillbeautomaticallyreloadedwiththepreload registervalueandcontinuecounting-up. IftheCTRL0registerhasselectedthePFDfunction,thenforPFDoutputtooperate,itisessential forthePortBcontrolregisterPBCtosetthePFDpinsasoutputs.PB3mustbesethightoactivate thePFD.Theoutputdatabitscanbeusedastheon/offcontrolbitforthePFDoutputs.Notethatthe PFDoutputswillallbelowiftheoutputdatabitisclearedtozero.
